We are thrilled to announce that our project, the AI-Assisted Design of Functional Clothing for Scoliosis Treatment, has been featured in the Excel x Impact by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), showcasing our approach to improving the lives of individuals with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS).
The featured article details how the traditional rigid brace, which is the common treatment for AIS, can be uncomfortable and aesthetically unappealing, leading to compliance issues among adolescents. To combat these issues, Professor Yip’s team has utilized AI to prescribe and configure custom-designed braces that optimize the placement of padding, tightness of elastic straps, and configurable 3D structures to reduce spinal curvature while enhancing functionality and comfort.
